EUR/JPY Daily Chart (potential reversal?) - 5/17/2012

Posted: 16 May 2012 08:30 PM PDT

Hey guys!

Just wanted to get your feedback on this setup that I spotted on EUR/JPY's daily chart. We've got Stochastic in DEEP oversold territory and an inverted hammer on the 102.00 handle (major area of interest in the past).

Have a look:

So what do you guys think? Is this a legit reversal in the works? Let's get a discussion goin'!

Bank Management question.

Posted: 16 May 2012 07:12 PM PDT

I was thinking about make a deposit of $300 and trade with the 0.01 lots. I would have 3000Pips (300/0,10), and with a 2% Risk per Trade i could use a 60Pips Stop Loss.

My question is: My broker (Oanda) requires a 2% margin (50:1 leverage). And since i would be buying 1.000 units, in the current EUR/USD the margin would be $25 (8,3% of my bankroll).

I am doing my money management in the right way? I need to count my risk by the Stop Loss or by the Margin?

Thanks in advance, and really sorry for my bad english :(

The Silver Breakdown!?

Posted: 16 May 2012 04:20 PM PDT

Just started this short thread for one thing, and one thing only: The possible MEGA BREAKOUT/MEGA BOUNCE of the silver/dollar (XAGUSD) !

I feel this setup is MAJOR and since not everyone is actullay interested in trading silver, well maybe this is the time to make some pips out of it:
My setup is ONLY based on Price Action trading: Here's the BIG DEAL (on daily chart):

Si les francais me lisent en ce moment, alors copier/collez sur reverso, ou mattez juste l'attache ;D

Stocks Lower Again In Choppy Trade On Greek Worries| May 17, 2012.

Posted: 16 May 2012 02:50 PM PDT

Attachment 25672

Overnight equities finished in negative territory for the 12th time in 13 sessions in choppy trade, early in the trading session the markets were bullish on reports that Germany and France will act to keep Greece in the euro zone. Markets turned sour after news that the ECB has halted monetary operations to certain Greek banks.

The Dow Index slid 33 points to close at 12,598, while the S&P 500 fell 5.86 points to finish at 1,324.80. Earlier in the session the Dax closed down 0.26 percent at 6384.

On the economic front, US housing starts rose more than expected in April, gaining 2.6 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 717,000 units. The Fed meeting minutes showed that a couple of Fed policymakers were in favour of further quantitative easing if the economy falters.

WTI crude oil (see above chart) fell to the lowest level in more than six months as US supplies grew to the most since 1990 and ongoing troubles in Greece further highlighted the euro zone debt crisis.

The volatility index which is considered the best gauge of fear in the market settled at 22.27, this is the highest level this year.

14% a day unheard of?

Posted: 16 May 2012 01:04 PM PDT

Does anyone here net 14% a day on the total capital risked? So far this week I have averaged a dollar a day at a rate of .5 cents per pip because of a new strategy I developed. No losses are probably the only reason I am able to make a dollar per day... I do expect to make losses just hopefully not for at leadt a few more days so that my gains will greatly offset any future losses. It would be nice to know someone with a much larger account balance pulling off this kind of return per day. I'm sure I could learn a lot from them. And depending on how you trade I'm sure it's possible. Please share!

Trading Plan and Oanda Account Questions

Posted: 16 May 2012 07:10 AM PDT

Hi,

I have just finished the school of pipsology for the first time (im sure I will be referring back to it) and have just opened up a demo account with Oanda. I choose them as I believe their is no minimum pip value? Is that right?
Also just opening up there trading platform and it was quite slow loading (it took over a minute). Is it usually this slow?

I wanted to ask about a trading plan as well. Now I have decided to trade the longer time frames but I am confused as to where to start with my trading plan. I dont want to just be restricted to a mechanical system. I want to be able to trade things like ascending channels, fib line bounces, breakouts of support &resistence etc. So my questions is can you have a trading plan that incorporates lots of difffernt trading styles or does it have to be just one type of trading?

Thanks again guys

James
